Product Description
Hand carved from a solid piece of soapstone, each peacock bookend is an individually crafted sculpture. These are authentic and vintage and limited in quantity. No two are identical but pairs are made to match. In Asian art the peacock may represent virtues, grace, loyalty, contentment, restraint and high learning. In ancient Chinese dynasties the peacock was used as a symbol of rank among civil servants and was considered a symbol of culture. Each stone bookend is about 7 inches tall.
