My daughter asked for heavy book ends for Christmas and she was delighted with these. I was a little skeptical about ordering them because she is an art student at SCAD with discriminating tastes. However, these lions are in an interesting pose and are quite pleasing to look at. Also, they are heavier than most bookends.
Beautiful Bookends for a fabulous price September 5, 2010

I searched online for many hours and days for a set of nice, heavy bookends. After reading a very positive review on Amazon for these bookends, I decided to take a chance. I say that because I had ordered some beautiful bookends from [...] and they lasted 5 minutes before they tumbled from my bookshelf and gouged my walls and shattered all over the place. They seem to make bookends more for looks than functionality these days. I am very pleased with these bookends and I must say they are a rare find for me. I was shocked to see that bookends are so expensive and after I did hours and days of research I came to realize that the price for these bookends comparitively speaking was not out of the norm or unreasonable. These in addition to the black marble bookends I purchased from another seller look wonderful on my new bookcase.
